Bloggiesta Day 2 or How to Fail big Time

Bloggiesta Day 2It is day two already! Wow time flies by! Yesterday I needed most of the day to do other Stuff that had to be done before I could start Bloggiesta so I haven’t had a lot of time to do something before it was time to go to bed. So for the start of today I thought I could tell you a little how my day started because I haven’t had a very smooth start today.

Technically the Day started already before I went to bed because it was already 2 AM when I did so (Twitter during Bloggiesta is so mean!). Then at 6 AM the cat woke me – first by sticking her wet nose and her paws in my eyes and face and stomping all over me, then by finding out that she could get the cat goodies by throwing the box on the ground so that it opens. This resulted first in a loud noise, second in a cat munching cat snacks like a maniac and third me crawling out of bed, shouting at her and putting the snacks back in the box (and putting it on the highest shelf I could find).

The next time I woke up was at 8 AM when my alarm went off for the first time. It did that every ten minutes for the next two hours but I was way too tired to get up. This meant that I was already late for class, so I got up and went to the underground station and hopped on the train only to realise that the station where I had to switch trains was closed. Ok, so walking for one station -  at least that woke me up a little with the icy wind.

As soon as I sat in the second train I had a bag with an opened pack of chocolate dangeling right in front of my face – in smelling distance for my nose. I have to add that I challenged myself to not eat any sweets – especially chocolate during lent which ends next week so I am pretty desperate for chocolate at the moment. But eventually I finally reached uni and set there, wanting to go home and finally start my Bloggiesta Day.

So here I am. I am not sure yet if I will keep updating yesterday’s To-Do List (maybe with colour coding?) or write a new one so that it is better to read. Will decide that a little bit later. But I haven’t planned anything else for the weekend which means that I am not supposed to leave the house anymore for the rest of the weekend so I can fully concentrate on Bloggiesta-ing….. whatever :) .

Oh I nearly forgot. Last thing I did last night was Mission “Pinterest” and when I came home earlier I couldn’t believe my eyes. So many people started following me already! Amazing! Thank you everyone, I am thrilled!

Have a nice Bloggiesta Day everyone!

Challenge 2.0 – The Summary and The Challenge 23

Long time no see I would say. The last weeks were really busy and chaotic and I haven’t had the time and silence to write blogposts. Even tho it is still busy I want to try to blog more often again from now on especially because I have a new Challenge for you (or rather for me).

But before that, you for sure want to know what happened to my old Challenge 2.0. I bet you are curious if I managed to run the “dm Frauenlauf”. So what can I say… I did! I have a picture of me in the pretty running shirt we got with my finisher medal to prove:

womens run

I ran all the way and didn’t have to stop or walk in between and with a time of 0:37:15,9 I was still slow but about 3 min. faster than I thought I would be. I didn’t manage to do my two bonus goals that were

a) be in the first 1000 of my age range (I was 1106th) and

b) finish the run faster than the fastest nordic walker (she had a time of 35 Min. and something – how did she do that??!)

but I am still proud of myself that I tryed and finished it!

So I talked about a new Challenge already, now it’s time to specify it. Today I realised that I have only 23 days left until the first of three conventions, I want to attend, starts. As my cosplays will be with a bare midriff (at least 2 of them) I need to do a lot of sports until then to make my belly flat and showable. No, I don’t want to lose weight or something like that but I don’t want to show my belly the way it is, so I need to change it.

My Battleplan for the next 23 Days looks like this:

1. Do sport as often as possible, best case every day. An option would be one day running or swimming (especially because summer and 30° C finally arrived here!) and the next day sports active and so on.

2. Do belly exercises (again) as often as possible, best case also every day.

3. Eat as healthy as possible what means:

- as much vegetables and fruit as possible

- as little chocolate, cookies, fastfood and bad fat in general as possible

- trying to eat carbohydrates not to late in the day (maybe before 6 in the evening?)

- start again with drinking 1,5 litres of water a day(or more if it’s hot)

But that’s not all I have to do to prepair for the first convention. I also need to finish my Cosplays what means that I still have a lot of work ahead of me. I will keep you updated with my improvements.

Today’s Summary:

Sport & Nutrition:

3,25 km of running

~ 3 km of walking

decided for the stairs instead of the elevator: 2 times (upwards, I hardly ever use the elevator downwards)

Cosplays:

Didn’t do anything today. I’m not revealing what characters it will be already. You will have to stay tuned to find out.

Percentage of completion:

Cosplay 1: 40% done

Cosplay 2: 10% done

Cosplay 3: not decided for one yet

Other things to be done this week:

finish reading The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde

read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

write a Treatment

write a paper about the movie Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi

buy shoes (woho so looking forward to that!)

Ok, that’s it for today. It got a long but hopefully not boring post. See you soon (hopefully tomorrow) with a new update.

Challenge 2.0, Day 1 – The New Challenge

So I started today with eating a crunchy chocolate muesli :D . Earlier I finally tried the Mini-Mozartkugeln I intended to try a month ago already. Just ate a few of them and very slowly. They are delicious. But I ate Salad too today, I want to keep up with that even tho the Challenge is over. Ok, this might have been the last time I am talking about chocolate (no promises about that, but I’ll try to not mention it too often).

Talking about the Challenge brings up my next thing I wanted to tell you. I gave you hints already the last few days that I am going to do a new Challenge now that the old one is over. It was fun doin it and it surprised me a lot of what I am able to. So today is Day one of Challenge 2.0 (the geek in me decided for that title). You might want to know now what this new Challenge is all about. No, it’s not about chocolate again. This time it’s about Sport. Not only Sport in general, I have an actual goal I want to reach.

On May 30th there is this running event. It’s called “dm Frauenlauf” (dm Women’s Run). There are two distances to choose from – 5 and 10 km. I’m not brave enough for the 10 km for my first run I want to do, so I decided for the 5 km. This will be hard enough for me anyway. So I’ll try to do Sport at least 5 times a week from now on. Either running or Sports Active or something else that comes my way. I am open for suggestions if you have any for me. I’d also love it, if you want to join anything of that. I know already of two of my friends who want to participate in the run too, so you are welcome to join. For the run there are of course only girls allowed but for the training everyone can join me. The more the better – more people, more fun. Today I already did some Sports Active to start well with the Challenge, I hope it’s not going to be too screwed up when Uni starts again. We will see.

There is one more thing I want to start today. Some kind of a Life List. I’m not totally sure if it’s going to be a 101 in 1001 (101 things in 1001 days) or a general Life List or a mix of both. Probably the last option. I’ll decide that right after I finished this post. Then I’m going to work on the List and put it online. One thing that is sure already, is that the participation in the run will be one thing on the list to be crossed off. Feel free to join me with that too (or help me reach one of the things on my list).

Do you have any suggestions for me? Support? Do you want to join? Drop me a line in the comments!

Happy Easter to all of you and see you tomorrow with Day 2! (wow, that feels a bit like a time warp to suddenly be back at Day 1)

Challenge Day 46 – The last Day!

Day 46 of my Challenge. That means that I made it! Woho, I’m so proud of myself and surprised about myself at the same time (I might have said that about once or twice already).

Other than that today didn’t happen much. I pretty much procrastinated most of the day and watched more or less stupid tv shows. I really should start doing stuff tomorrow.

So as soon as I finished writing this post I’m technically allowed to eat chocolate again but I think I’m going to wait until when I wake up again. Today, when I went grocery shopping I stood in front of the chocolate shelves for about 10 minutes trying to figure out what chocolate I want to have for my “first chocolate” that should be special. I decided for the Mini-Mozartkugeln I wanted to try about a month already now. In general I want to try to enjoy it more in the future and not just stuff it into me. Do you know what I mean?

So tomorrow I’ll announce my new Challenge. I’m not totally sure about all of the detail but you’ll see. See you tomorrow with the new Challenge!

Challenge Day 45 – The second to last Day

Day 45 of my Challenge. I might repeat myself but Woho only sleeping twice and it’s done! I’m surprised by myself, really. Yeah, I know, there are more important things in life than not eating chocolate. A lot of people don’t have anything to eat at all. I know that – in fact, I’m about to do something about that too! A few weeks ago – I think it was at the beginning of the Challenge – I told you that I want to help people, I’m just not totally sure, how. And a while ago I told you about the project “Tafel” of Team Österreich where volunteers give food, that is donated by supermarkets (because they can’t sell it anymore – but it is still ok), to people in need. Today I confirmed the date for the information event everyone has to do who wants to volunteer. That means, that I am going to volunteer soon! Thrilling!

Last night I also had another idea, or better, I saw it on someone elses blog. It’s called 101 in 1001. Everyone can make a list of 101 things he or she wants to complete within the next 1001 days (about 2,75 years), post it and update the progress. I’m not good at achieving stuff on such lists, but I want to try. I started writing the list already, but haven’t found a lot of things yet, so I wait a bit longer and post it when there are more things on the list. Maybe anyone of you wants to join?

Regarding my Challenge everything is as usual. No chocolate and not a lot but a little bit of salad. Just the boring stuff I torture you every day. But that’s over in two days! See you tomorrow with the last day 46.

Challenge Day 44 – The holy Thursday

Day 44 of my Challenge. Only sleeping twice anymore. Then I can have chocolate again. I’m looking forward to that. Today when I was grocery shopping I had the heart to glance at the chocolate shelves for a millisecond and thought about that I go there next week and take my time to select a really nice one out of all of them. I know already that this chocolate will taste incredible and I will eat it really really slooooowly.

Other than that I ate healthy today and I did not eat chocolate (except in my mind :) ). I had a lot of salad, a banana, a joghurt and spinach in the evening (I’m not very religious, so it’s more like a coincidence that I had it today on holy Thursday – for the ones who don’t know it, on holy Thursday you are supposed to eat spinach here). Today is one of the days where I basically could eat all day (more than usual). I guess that’s a girl thing or so (hopefully, I don’t want to be the only one).

Also I did Sports Active today and I had an idea for a new Challenge when this one is over on Sunday but I’m not going to tell you right now what it is. I’ll announce it on Sunday when this Challenge is officially completed. Wow, that sounds nice!

See you tomorrow with the second to last day of the Challenge.

Challenge Day 42 – The Victory against Fear

Day 42 of my Challenge started at 9. That’s pretty early when you go to bed at 2 or so. But I managed to get up, have breakfast, jump into sports clothes and hop on the underground to go to a friend of mine with whom I faced my fear of running today. We went to a park near her home and ran two rounds in it – 2.5 km. And walked there and back for about 1.5 km each way. I know it’s not a record or so but I’m still proud that I moved my behind and did it :) . The only problem about it is, that my knees hurt now a bit and so I decided not to do Sports Active today even tho I was looking forward to it.

I made it to 3 and a half meals today, so a bit better again. Also a lot of salad and a Banana. Again no chocolate even tho I watched TV earlier the first time for a while again and saw a chocolate commercial followed by a chocolate ice cream commercial. Only 5 days left! At the grocery store I was already in the sweets corridor and thought about buying some sweets (without chocolate) but I thought that I managed it without any of these for so long now that I can wait with that until Sunday too (or Monday as I’m not buying anything before Sunday).

The rest of the day I didn’t do very much even tho I should have done something. Tomorrow is another day to try that. I already started to plan tomorrow. See you then!

Challenge Day 41 – The Shoppingtrip

Day 41 of my Challenge is already over. Five more days to go! I’m so proud of myself. Today I couldn’t resiste the Temptation anymore and went to the store and bought two things. I feel a bit guilty about it but I think it was for a good cause.

The first thing I bought, was a water filter. I’m not entirely sure, if this is really cheaper than buying bottled water, but it causes less waste and I don’t have to carry all the bottles every time I go grocery shopping.

The second thing I bought, was Sports Active – more Workouts and already tried the first workout and really liked it. Especially the obstacle course was causing heavy breathing but it made the exercises fun that were boring before.

I ate not very well today. I did eat a big bowl of salad and vegetables but I just had two meals today what is bad. But no chocolate again!

Tomorrow I will finally face something I want to do and I’m scared of at the same time – Running. I’ll meet with a friend and run a few rounds in a park near her. Let’s see how it works out – literally.

I’ll tell you tomorrow how it went at day 42.

Challenge Day 40 – The last Week

Tomatoes!!Day 40 of my Challenge was uneventful. I slept long, had breakfast and planned to do some stuff for uni. I indeed did a little bit, but not a lot – as I planned in the beginning.

At least I could finally watch Episode 2 of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution today. The anger and sadness continued but at least there was some hope in the end. This time he went to a class full of 6-year-olds and showed them vegetables – and they didn’t know any of these! Not even tomatoes or potatoes. They were surprised, when Jamie told them, that Ketchup was made out of tomatoes and french fries out of potatoes. But their teachers did teach it to them on their own and in the end they knew every kind of vegetable he showed to them.

Also, the cooks at the school were shocked, when Jamie asked them to give forks and knives to the kids so that they can eat their lunch. HUH? They never used fork and knives before at the school! Naturally they didn’t know how to use them. At least, Jamie was finally successfull and the kids ate a lot more of the food he cooked than the first few days. This helped with the decision, to let him try for a few more weeks! Nice! I’m looking forward to next week’s episode.

I ate a big bowl of delicious salad with my meal today and again no chocolate. Today in one week the challenge is finally completed! Woho, I’m so proud of myself. I also did Sports Active again today plus the belly exercises which I added one more exercises to today. Also I had a (for me) crazy idea. I was thinking about going jogging but then was too scared of it to really do it. I’ll try again tomorrow. Then it is Sports Active Break Day anyway.

That’s it for today already. See you tomorrow at Day 41.

Challenge Day 39 – The Task Management

Challenge Day 39 was pretty boring. Just had to work at the studio for a few hours. I brought sandwiches so I didn’t have to starve.

I planned to talk about the second Episode of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution today but unfortunately there isn’t any link for me yet to watch. Just these I can’t watch because I’m not within the USA. So hopefully tomorrow.

The other thing I did today was, that I downloaded a free Task management software for my Plan of what I have to do for Uni. It looks pretty neat so far. I can make subtasks (that was important for me) and I can set a time I think the task will take and of course a due date. Let’s see if it works out as I hope.

I didn’t do Sports Active today as I did todays workout already yesterday. I had salad in my sandwiches and a banana in the morning and in the evening and no chocolate.

Tomorrow is the first day in 3 weeks or so that I don’t have either work or uni or both. Wohoo! This is the first real day of Holidays then! Exciting. A lot of time to catch up with the uni stuff *sigh*.

See you tomorrow at day 40.
